Bari Pearlman’s brief, intimate documentary, “Daughters of Wisdom,” examines in worthy anecdotal detail the belief within Tibet that it’s bad fortune to be born a woman. Following the lives of the 300 or so residents of the Kala Rongo Monastery, the only monastery for Buddhist nuns in that country, Pearlman both investigates and illuminates. With Lama Norlha Rinpoche, the People of Nangchen and the Nuns of Kala Rongo Monastery (who also provide the score). 68m. BetaSP video. Pearlman will appear after screenings Friday, Saturday 3:30 on Sunday. (Ray Pride)
