So-sensitive made-for-here!-television teen melodrama “Shelter,” directed and written by Jonah Markowitz, follows many of the archetypal elements of the coming-out genre with tepid results. A surfing 18-year-old short-order cook falls for his best friend’s older brother, which launches bouts of self-recrimination and ultimately, acceptance, natch; cute looks and character clichés abound while nudity and explicit sex are left to other stock reveries nestling on the video store shelf. 88m.
