Advancing on his globe-girdling 1999 electronica doc, “Better Living Through Circuitry,” Jon Reiss compiles an incisive survey of street graffiti around the world, including New York, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, São Paolo, Tokyo, Barcelona and Los Angeles. Reiss is strong in defining how each city’s work differs because of the local culture and is also astute in weighing whether various forms of commoditization of the material is a good thing or a bad thing. The eclectic score is as bold and bright as the art in Reiss’ comprehensive achievement. Thoughtful and consistently entertaining, it’s also stuffed with provocative ideas to ponder afterwards. 93m.
