Scott Galloway and Brent Pierson’s 2006 documentary, “A Man Named Pearl,” captures African-American topiary artist Pearl Fryar, the best-known citizen of a small South Carolina town. His living sculptures, covering almost four acres, which he tends to with great intent, are beautiful in so many ways. His neighbors and fellow citizens of Bishopville love to talk about the love that’s in his work and then talk about it some more. 78m. 35mm. (Ray Pride)
