First-time filmmaker Wendy Keys, once a member of the selection committees of the New York Film Festival and New Directors/New Films, showcases inspired designs and restless philosophy in the documentary “Milton Glaser: To Inform and Delight.” Glaser’s known for many things, including co-founding New York magazine and fashioning the “I (heart) NY” campaign, but what Keys is best at is cataloging the charismatic 79-year-old’s always-articulate observations by on his profession and his philosophy. (Simple is best.) Plus: it’s a swell portrait of an archetypal New Yorker. The title comes from Horace: “the purpose of art is to inform and delight.” Informed and delighted you shall be. With The Nation’s Katrina vanden Heuvel, Peter Mayer, Shirley Kenny, Shirley Glaser, Jivan Tabibian, Ralph Caplan, Brookie Maxwell, Steve Heller, Deborah Adler, Walter Bernard, Katja Maas and George Lang. 73m.
